Recognized Health Care Leader

We are committed to the highest quality of care, and we can prove it!

Portneuf Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and maintains a Gold Seal of Approval™. This means that we are committed to "providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value."

PMC is also accredited and recognized by leading clinical organizations, including:

Bariatric - American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery
The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) works to advance safe, high-quality care for bariatric surgical patients through the accreditation of bariatric surgical centers. A bariatric surgical center achieves accreditation following a rigorous review process during which it proves that it can maintain certain physical resources, human resources, and standards of practice.

Cancer - The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer
Portneuf received commendation ratings in the Clinical Trial Accrual, Cancer Registrar Education, Nursing Care, and Data Submission standards assessments. ACS represents leaders in cancer care with their nationally recognized programs—the Commission on Cancer, the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, the National Cancer Data Base and the American Joint Committee on Cancer.

Chest Pain - The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC)
SCPC drives protocol and evidence-based process improvement through Accreditation for facilities and through education for healthcare professionals focused on cardiovascular care.

Heart Failure - Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care
SCPC drives protocol and evidence-based process improvement through Accreditation for facilities and through education for healthcare professionals focused on cardiovascular care.

Hip & Knee - DSC Joint Commission
PMC has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety as a primary care medical home (PCMH) for hospitals and critical access hospitals. This special add-on certification option for accredited hospitals, recognizes PMC’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.

Hyperbarics - Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine Society
The UHMS clinical hyperbaric medicine facility accreditation program recognizes hyperbaric facilities that demonstrate their commitment to patient care and facility safety.

Stroke - DSC Joint Commission
The Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers recognizes centers that make exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes for stroke care. Achievement of certification signifies that the services PMC provides have the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes.

Trauma - Level II - American College of Surgeons
The designation of trauma facilities is a geopolitical process by which empowered entities, government or otherwise, are authorized to designate. The ACS does not designate trauma centers; instead, it verifies the presence of the resources listed in Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.
