POCATELLO — Pauline Cardona, a sleep technician at Portneuf Medical Center, recently earned the title of registered polysomnographic technologist.
There is no other credential that is more prestigious to earn with regards to a sleep technologist, according to a news release.
Cardona had to prove, beforehand, that she had an extensive amount of clinical experience, that she is certified in the areas of CPR/BLS and that she adheres to all standards of conduct. Additionally, she had to pass the RPSGT certification test.
The health professional clinically assess patients with sleep disorders at PMC’s sleep disorder clinic.
With 70 million Americans affected by sleep disorders, PMC officials say it is important for patients to seek out sleep centers that employ technicians with RPSGT certification.
