POCATELLO — Derek Schelske, a rehab physical medicine expert at Portneuf Medical Center, recently attended a seminar titled “Stroke Recovery and Rehab.”
The agenda highlighted motor control and motor learning skills, along with the latest developments with regards to neural plasticity. Schelske also walked away from the in-service with a better understanding of how to incorporate various outcome measurement tools for both the upper and lower extremities into a treatment plan for patients who have suffered from a stroke.
PMC’s rehabilitation team is currently following such practices, according to a news release.
