Behavioral Health Inpatient Program

The Portneuf Behavioral Health inpatient psychiatric program for adults aged 18 or older is an acute, short-term program for patients in need of a secure, therapeutic environment 24-hours a day. Patients admitted to the inpatient service have an acute primary psychiatric diagnosis and exhibit severe symptoms, which may include one or more of the following:

Suicidal behavioral and/or threats
Assaultive behavior
Self-injurious behavior
Sleep or eating disturbances
Severe agitation
Medication complications
Acute psychiatric disorder
Paranoid behavior
Mood swings
Psychosis
Acute depressive episode
Severely dysfunctional patterns of behavior
