Survivor Day 2010

Youth Donate Blankets

Girls ages 12-18 from the Highland LDS 6th Ward donated over a dozen homemade blankets to Portneuf Cancer Center on June 9th. A number of the girls had experienced cancer in their own families and this donation came straight from the heart. A big thank you from Portneuf Cancer Center and their patients.

Casting for Recovery

Free Fly Fishing Retreat and Seminar for Breast Cancer Patients & Survivors promoting Mental, Physical & Emotional Healing

Casting for Recovery has an annual retreat in Idaho every June. The First Annual Retreat took place in June of 2007. At each retreat, fourteen breast cancer patients and survivors from all over the state gather together at a peacefull resort or lodge somewhere in Idaho. These women are introduced to the sport of fly fishing and to each other- a whole new adventure. A staff of fishing instructors, nurses, doctors, social workers, mental health workers and assorted help lead these very special participants into the world of rods, reels and recovery.
