Online Cancer Resources
In this day and age, the internet has become a way people get information as well as disperse information. While there are many websites on the internet that deal with cancer, not all of them contain correct information. The following websites should contain information that is both correct and helpful as you navigate through a cancer diagnosis.
General Information

American Cancer Society (ACS): A voluntary organization that offers a variety of services to patients and their families. It also supports research, provides printed materials and conducts educational programs.

People Living With cancer (PLWC): This is the American Society of Clinical Oncology website for patient education. Links all ASCO information and materials in addition to giving other communication access to people with all kinds of cancer.

Association of Cancer Online Resources: Providers resources for cancer patients wanting to find other with similar cancers. Also has information about most kinds of cancer along with groups.

National Cancer Institute (NCI): An excellent and comprehensive site for people wanting to know more about cancer, including cancer prevention, definitions, clinical trials, recipes and links to cancer centers.

Cancer Care, Inc.: A national nonprofit agency that offers free support, information, financial assistance, and practical help to people with cancer and their loved ones. Services are available in person, over the phone and through the agency’s website. Spanish language available.

Cancer Hope Network: Provides individual support to cancer patients and their families by matching them with trained volunteers who have undergone and recovered from a similar cancer experience.

Cancer Information and Counseling Line (CICL): Professional counselors provide up-to-date medical information, emotional support through short-term counseling, and resource referrals to callers nationwide.

Cancer Legal Resource Center: Provides information on cancer-related legal issues for cancer survivors, their families, and others impacted by the disease. They work with families on all types of issues, including employment, navigating managed care, getting and keeping health insurance, and estate planning.
