Portneuf Cancer Center
Services
A battle with cancer demands specialized care on many fronts. The Cancer Center provides a multi-specialty, team approach to treatments. The following describes the experts and services we offer to our patients.
Oncology Certified Registered Nurses
Certification is a voluntary process. It signifies a nurse has developed specialty knowledge. Oncology certified nurses have met or exceeded requirements for practice in cancer care, have completed education in oncology nursing, and have a tested knowledge of the specialty. Certification in oncology nursing is based on current professional practice, so it validates a nurse's knowledge is up-to-date.
Oncology Social Worker
We provide personal counseling, assistance and coordination of care. The Cancer Center also holds monthly Cancer Support Group meetings.
Oncology Dietician
The dietician is available to help patients manage their weight and nutrition plan while undergoing treatments.
Financial Resource Coordinator
To help with any financial concerns, we have a team of people to help answer questions, access financial support programs and navigate the insurance maze. This service is free of charge and confidential.
Patient Resource Library
Access to cancer related information, education and support for patient and family. Internet access is available to find the most current, up-to-date information related to your diagnosis.
Cancer Research/Clinical Trials
Portneuf Cancer Center offers patients the option to participate in a clinical trial. A clinical trial is one of the final stages of a long and careful cancer research process. Studies are done with cancer patients to find out whether promising approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are safe and effective. Your doctor will discuss this with you.
