Emergency Care

If you are having a life- or limb-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency services. At Portneuf Medical Center, the Emergency Department is located at 777 Hospital Way. Do not call the hospital as it does not dispatch ambulances.

Convenient Care

Many visits to Portneuf's Emergency Department are for non-emergency situations. Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic and often will take less time and could be less expensive than a trip to the Emergency Room.

Treatment at Convenient Care Includes:

• Minor cuts
• Skin and wound infections
• Rashes
• Foreign body in the eye
• Sinus pain
• Sore throats
• Colds
• Flu symptoms
• Toothaches
• Non-traumatic (Chronic) complaint

Can I get medical advice over the phone?

At this time Portneuf does not give out medical advice over the phone. Communicating symptoms over the phone makes it difficult to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and recommendation of treatment. Professional standards dictate that patients be seen in person for the best outcomes.
