Richard D Karem, MD

Dr. Karem might well have become a successful farmer if it hadn’t been for one very dedicated high school biology teacher. This instructor reached out to Dr. Karem and shared with him his love of biology and science. It was a life-changing relationship. Dr. Karem’s interests turned increasingly to science and biology and his proficiency in health care followed suit. He has a great respect for the patient-physician relationship and is committed to always make a positive difference.

Dr. Karem is very encouraged by some of the recent advancements in his field of medicine, especially in the treatment and recovery of stroke patients. He and his wife have two grown children and they are excited to be part of Southeast Idaho. Dr. Karem enjoys tennis, scuba diving, and Japanese gardening. He also likes riding his motorcycle… with his helmet on.

Robert M Kennedy, MD

Dr. Kennedy became Pocatello’s first neurologist when he and his wife moved here from Wyoming. He has seen a lot of changes in the field of neurology, but his move to Portneuf is one that he’s particularly excited about. Dr. Kennedy will now be able to offer his patients the broad continuum of care that a facility like Portneuf has to offer. He also likes the idea of being able to collaborate with his new colleagues on difficult cases and the new found freedom to be able to go skiing occasionally.
