Dr. Garay understands all the complex issues that surround weight related health concerns. He is the only board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon in southeast Idaho, and his advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery greatly enhance his patient's recovery time and well-being.
Dr. Garay's oversight and vision have helped PMC's Weight Management Institute develop into a highly respected, interdisciplinary resource for patients throughout southeast Idaho.

Colleen has worked as an NP since 2001. She has chosen to work in weight management/bariatric surgery to help people understand how the choices they make every day affect their health. This is a place where people can get a second chance to get their health back.
Krista completed her undergraduate nutrition programs at Idaho State University. She educates people on how to improve their diet to become healthier. She also has experience and training to work with diabetics in learning how to manage their diabetes through diet.
Dr. Ross graduated with the inaugural class in Clinical Psychology at Idaho State University in 2001, after many years working as a Speech Pathologist in Physical Rehabilitation; she also worked in administration in Physical Rehab as well as Hospital Clinical Services at Pocatello Regional Medical Center. After over 10 years in private practice in Pocatello, Dr. Ross joined the PMC Behavioral Health Clinic in September of 2013.
Dr. Ross currently completes neuropsychological evaluations with patients who have experienced traumatic brain injury, stroke and other brain disorders, as well as older adults with memory problems. She also provides behavioral treatment of chronic headaches, sleep disorders, and chronic pain.
Dr. Ross also provides psychological services to patients of the Weight Management Institute/Bariatrics Program, as well as evaluation and treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. She provides consults with inpatients of Portneuf Medical Center to aid with their recovery from a behavioral/psychological perspective. While she tailors her approach to fit the needs and desires of each patient, Dr. Ross’ primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, exposure, and biofeedback-assisted relaxation.
In her spare time, Dr. Ross enjoys spending time with her family, refinishing antique furniture, exploring exotic places and hiking the Idaho mountains.
Shawn was born and raised in the small town of Downey ID. He completed his bachelor degree in exercise science and doctorate of physical therapy at Idaho State University.
Shawn first became interested in physical therapy after injuring his knee in high school while playing football. While completing physical therapy, Shawn saw how big of a difference therapists could make in patent's lives in returning them to their previous level of activity and wanted to have that same opportunity to help people.
Shawn's main areas of expertise are in treating back and neck pain, shoulder and knee pain, seeing patients post operatively for a wide variety of issues, sports hernias, sports medicine, and strength training for the bariatric program.
Shawn and his wife Amanda have three beautiful little girls. When not working at the clinic Shawn enjoys almost any athletic activity including basketball, golf and tennis as well as hunting and spending time with his family. Shawn also enjoys watching his favorite Denver Broncos and Utah Jazz.
Johna has 11 years of nursing experience, primarily surrounding behavioral health. Her recent decision to change her path of nursing comes from her own personal struggles with obesity. Johna had been super morbidly obese a good part of her adult life, suffering from high blood pressure, sleep apnea and back pain because of the extra weight. She decided to have a gastric bypass in January of 2013. Since her life changing surgery she has developed a personal passion to help those who suffer with weight issues through her personal experience and medical knowledge. “I want people to feel as good as I do now; to feel alive again!”
Mallory was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. She received her undergraduate degree in dietetics at Idaho State University. She then went on to complete her dietetic internship through Idaho State University in 2014. Mallory helps educate patients on ways to improve their health through diet and lifestyle changes. She enjoys seeing patients make healthy changes that increase the quality of their everyday life.
