Psychology Post-Doctoral Resident

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT CLINIC

Duties

The Post-Doctoral resident for the Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic will be divided between separate departments: PMC behavioral inpatient unit, outpatient clinic, and bariatric Surgery team. They will participate in new patient intakes and diagnostic and treatment services as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary outpatient mental health service that seeks to be a model of efficiency and effectiveness. Displays quality interviewing, diagnostic and report-writing skills. Conducts therapies (group and individual) in accordance with patient diagnosis, needs, and expectations of the multidisciplinary treatment plan. Participates in the treatment planning process with the multidisciplinary group, contributing individual patient’s needs to each plan. Provides therapy designed to enhance mental wellness and functional outcomes as it relates to self-care, relationships, work, and recreation. Assesses levels of risk. Develops and manages a care plan in conjunction with other professionals. Serves as a liaison between behavioral health and bariatric team for pre-surgical evaluations as well as pre and post- surgical therapy.

Requirements

Ph.D. or Psy.D. conferred prior to the onset of the residency from an APA accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology. Dissertation completed and successfully defended. License eligible in the state of Idaho as a Masters level service provider. Must have thorough knowledge of community resources for behavioral health and experience in a medical setting. Strong interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and thorough documentation in the medical record. Prefer experience in neuropsychological and personality assessments. Prefer bariatric evaluation experience and group psychotherapy experience.

Classification

THIS POSITION WILL BE FOR A 12 MONTH ASSIGNMENT Exempt, generally Monday through Friday, may vary as needed.
