Varicose veins occur most commonly in the legs when valves fail to operate properly. Blood pools in the legs instead of returning to the heart. If left untreated, this condition can lead to serious problems later in life. Having unsightly veins removed is not merely a cosmetic decision.

The Idaho Vein Center uses the latest technology to remove varicose veins and spider veins with great success and minimal discomfort. We also offer treatment for leg pain and swelling, arterial disease and other vascular problems.

Dr. Julio Vasquez is a cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with Portneuf Medical Center. His vision for the future of arteriovenous care in Pocatello is unrivaled and he has worked tirelessly to ensure the Idaho Vein Center is a clinic at the forefront of its field. He serves as our medical director and supervises all activity at the Idaho Vein Center, as well as performing our laser treatment procedures.

Amy McKinlay is a certified physician assistant who has worked in the vascular field for more than 6 years. She is a fully credentialed expert in cosmetic procedures and is the source of our excellent reputation for spider vein treatment. Patients consistently comment on her outstanding level of communication.

Gregg Taylor is our registered vascular technologist, the man behind our comprehensive ultrasound suite. As our technical director, he works closely with Dr. Vasquez and Amy to hone the quality of our ultrasound. With more than 27 years in the industry, Gregg provides the highest level of service and quickly identifies potential problems within the vascular system. We are lucky to have him at the Idaho Vein Center.

State of the Art

The Idaho Vein Center is a state-of-the-art vascular laboratory that is fully accredited with Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). As one of few accredited labs in the state we offer a fully equipped procedure room and a comprehensive ultrasound suite onsite, eliminating the hassle of going offsite for services.
