Portneuf Labor & Delivery Prepares for First & Last Babies
It’s almost that time of year again…time to welcome the New Year’s Baby! Portneuf Medical Center is now accepting donations of gifts from individuals, businesses and organizations in the community. The gifts will be presented to the first baby born in 2009.
The labor and delivery staff at PMC believes every birth is cause for celebration. “It’s fun to see who will deliver first and then present the family not only with their new baby but with a host of prizes as well!” says Diane Atherton-Pacheco, RN Director of PMC’s Women & Children’s Department.
Adding a new twist to an old favorite, Portneuf Medical Center will help honor the LAST baby of the year in addition to celebrating the first baby of 2009. In what is hoped to be a new holiday tradition with area community partners, PMC’s Department of Women & Children’s Services will help welcome in the last baby born at PMC in 2008.
Local tax service provider H & R Block will be on hand to award the lucky baby with a gift basket full of infant essentials. In addition, the parents of the lucky infant will also receive a gift certificate good toward the preparation of their 2008 income taxes (complete with new child deduction), to help them make the most of the year.
